Port Townsend Taylor Street

Taylor Street is located in the heart of the historic downtown area of Port Townsend and is at the center of the Port Townsend National Historic Landmark District. As a team member, Jennifer* provided urban streetscape design for Taylor Street. The design included curb extensions and bulb outs, revised parking layout, new ADA ramps, new street signage incorporated into the paving, and a reconfiguration of the streetscape to better connect Haller Fountain with the dock and waterfront. The new streetscape is more pedestrian oriented with low curb, updated lighting, paving and mini park spaces, planting, and site furnishings. The creation of a convertible street has enhanced its use when the street is closed to vehicular traffic for festivals and events including the annual Rhododendron Festival.
