Open Space for Arts and Community
Open Space for Arts and Community is a remodel of an existing industrial building to provide flexible space for events and performances with a focus on the performing arts for the community of Vashon Island. The site design for Arts and Community emphasizes the building entrance, suggesting an entry courtyard with seating, walls, art, and planting as well as ADA access. JKLA provided site design and permitting assistance for the project which included site assessment and mapping of the 10 acre site, verification of the available survey and previous site assessments, permit evaluation and development of site plan and proposed improvements for permitting with King County. Assessment included vehicular access and parking, as well as building access.
